5 out of 5 stars Works Very Well   June 12, 2007

I purchased the Golflogix GPS instead of the more popular SkyCaddie because the Golflogix is made by Garmin. Obviously, Garmin knows GPS. The unit is actually a re-packaged Garmin eTrex. It is very solid and sturdy. When I bought it I found that three of the courses that I play were not mapped. I requested them and in one week they were available. Fantastic. I have also submitted questions via email and have been answered promptly. The unit is small and easy to use. It will increment holes automatically when I walk to the next hole. Most of the time I do not need to press any buttons. I would definitely recommend Golflogix.

I had one of the early models made by SkyCaddie, and this device is far superior. It's easier to use, holds 20 downloaded courses (as opposed to 10), finds the course you are at (as opposed to scrolling through a list), is waterproof (as opposed to water resistant), cost far less to get a one year membership to downloadable courses, and turns on in seconds with distances (as opposed to minutes). The 2008 model measures the distance from your last shot so you can tell how far you are hitting each club. br / br /It's very easy to use. Just turn it on. I had no trouble downloading the courses, and I am a Mac user with the Mac Leopard operating system. The Garmin algorithn for finding distances is quick and accurate. br / br /I really like it and can't imaging playing golf without it!

I have used this item for several rounds of golf. It is very easy to use. Seems much easier to work than the Skycaddie. They both will give you the same information but this one is easier to read and operate. The customer service at Golflogix is tops also.

I recieved my GolfLogix GPS a week ago and took it to our local course to give it a try. My friends had a "SkyCaddie" and I wanted a Garmin product as I also have a Garmin Street Pilot 330c GPS. I was extremely disappointed in the Golflogix as it was really giving strange readings that were way off. I finally shut it off and went ahead and finished my golf game. I went home aroung 5:30pm and e-mailed GolfLogix and told them what had happened. To make a long story short I recieved an e-mail within 2 hours as to what had happened. They explained that some changes on the golf course had been made since they had mapped it. Well in that span of 2 hours they had remapped it and published it. I re-loaded the update and tried it out last night. It worked great, very accurate, couldn't ask for anything to work better than it did. I have e-mailed GolfLogig 3 other times and their response was always answered well and fast. WAY TO GO GolfLogix, very refreshing for that kind of service in this day and age.

I've had my Garmin for a couple of weeks now and it's fabulous knowing accurate yardages (even when you need to play up an adjacent hole!) br / br /I was undecided on the Garmin Golf Logix vs Sky Caddy choice, but went with the Garmin for their ease of use, customer support (I've heard it's very poor with Sky Caddy), and price. br / br /I like that it's powered by 2 AA batteries (easy replacement of battery mid round (though I've played 4 rounds and the originals are still going strong) br / br /It would be nice if you could track your last shot yardage and still toggle to the green/hazard yardage info to help your buddies (right now, it's one or the other option, not both), but for the price, I really feel I made the right choice.
